Earlier today Obsidian Entertainment posted a strange tweet listing their games in chronological order ending in a “???”. It has been hours since this was posted with hundreds of gamers guessing and no new news.

Whatever Obsidian is planning for their next game after Pillar of Eternity II could be very interesting. Could they be considering a return to Fallout or Star Wars RPGs? Either of those prospects would be equally exciting. Fallout: New Vegas is still considered by many Fallout fans as the best entry in FPS format since Bethesda took over the series’ rights. While plagued with some bugs, and issues, Star Wars: KOTOR II was thought of fondly by many game fans. It’s elusive plot twists, and the sudden ending left many hoping for more Star Wars from Obsidian. Some are even hoping for a return to Alpha Protocol, an underappreciated stealth action game released back in 2010.
Again, Obsidian has been silent after posting, they are sure to have answers for those question marks soon “???” and we will have them for you as soon as possible. As far as the short term, Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire is slated to release sometime in 2018. It is a sequel to the crowd-funded, and successful Pillars of Eternity, an isometric CRPG style with solid storytelling and intricate dialog decision options.
