In a recent interview Larian Studios was asked regarding any hope of an expansion or sequel to one of the best RPG games released on PC to date. Their response was curious, “At the moment no. We’re still thinking about it together with Microsoft and Sony.” While perhaps a little disheartening for fans of Divinity Original Sin that its not in the works right now, the fact that its being tossed around has to spark a little hope. Interesting that Larian Studios executive David Walgrave, would mention Microsoft and Sony as part of any Divinity expansion discussion. However its upcoming console release, could be generating push from the two console superpowers for more content to host for the game.
Could be good news for us in the future, in the meantime current PC version owners of Divinity Original Sin, should be jubilant to know that the Enhanced Edition will be available for FREE sometime around October (Larian Studios’ expected release date for DOS:EE). This new edition is a completely new experience, and will require a new playthrough to fully enjoy all of its new features, voice work additions, graphical updates (but it was so pretty already?!) and more.
